Elowah Falls Columbia River Gorge, Oregon The Columbia River Gorge gets so much water each year that it is filled with lush green pretty much everywhere. It's also dotted with waterfall after waterfall after waterfall. The best time to visit is early spring when the green color is at its maximum and the waterfalls are gushing. Andy and I spent the morning hiking to Fairy Falls and having some time to kill before the sun got too high we decided to do the short walk to Elowah Falls. We scrambled down the muddy embankment to get into the water and take some photos where the action was -- with the water gushing down the river below Elowah. I can't wait to get back here another spring and photographer even more of the stunning views that the Columbia River Gorge has to offer!
