For Sammi
Sammi's parents renovated their kitchen and had 2 giant walls that needed a beautiful photo. They wanted to use one of mine but my photography doesn't quite match their style (which is basically or mostly Black and White). Before I left for the trip Sammi looked at me sternly and said "take a photo that can be used square that doesn't have much color in it." So I set off to Banff with a thought in the back of my mind to keep an eye out for something that might work.
While trapsing around Johnson Lake I noticed this set of 3 Birch trees, which were perfectly set in front of a forest of pine trees. This would work perfectly for them I thought! I grabbed the big lens and snapped away. I loved the way the light just managed to kiss the trees and light them up, as if with a spotlight. Thought her parents did like the photo, we settled on a different one for their kitchen!
