Edge of the Storm
Sunset at Pescadero Beach Pescadero, California My co-worker, Mike, has always wanted to join Willie and I on our seascape excursions. On this particular evening our sunset forecast app, Escaype, had predicted there would be a gorgeous sunset and Mike and his wife decided to tag along. The forecast did mention that the clouds would start disappearing south of the town of Pescadero and our best bet was further north. Willie and I had wanted to photograph some striated rocks and we sent Mike ahead to see if he could find the exact spot (which he did, based on Willie’s impeccable directions). Mike did note how the clouds seemed to be thinning to his left, confirming the Escaype prediction. Luckily for us, Escaype was 100% perfect in its forecast, the entire sky lit on fire in front of us, while we watched a blue hole open up in the sky to our left (to the south)! The beach had a number of spots with beautiful striated rocks but by the time the sky began to light up red, orange, and purple, the tide had come in and was covering most of those beautiful rocks. While Willie and Mike stayed by the rocks, I decided to explore a little more of the area and make sure I came away with a few photos. I loved how the water flowed through this little channel and how the rocks pointed out towards the sea, directing my gaze at the beautiful sunset in front of me!
