Beer Garden 2
One of the Redwood groves that Willie was most excited to visit was Stout Grove. The National Park Service claimed that the grove had re-opened after early COVID restrictions had closed it, but to our dismay, the gate to the entrance was closed a mile before the parking lot. There was a small lot nearby and we pulled in and decided to walk.
The decision to walk in was a good one, as we had the entire place to ourselves and it was absolutely gorgeous. A main path walks visitors around the trees, while smaller paths allow you to explore more deeply. It was *really* hard to photograph in here but Willie made the discovery that hopping up on a dead trees and getting 5-10 feet off the ground made a huge difference.
I loved the way the path curves through the ferns here. The giant Redwood trees, some of them hundreds of years, stick up as if they're bottles of Stout Beer. This seems like the perfect beer garden, to sit back, relax, and unwind for a while.
