Redwood Beams
Willie, David and I spent a weekend camping up at Humboldt Redwoods State Park. We played in trees, explored and tried to do as much photography as we could do. We also spent a lot of time driving.
What I didn't realize about the Redwoods is how many mosquitos could live in the woods. We literally got attacked -- so badly that we canceled one of our sunset shoots (it might have been this one?) because we were so miserable. Willie's entire head was one giant mosquito bite after he got bit about 200 times. (for the record: we all went and bought mosquitos masks after this trip, though it wasn't helpful here).
On this particular part of the evening we loved how the beams of light came down from behind the trees, while the nice ferns lined the foreground.
