Cracked Earth
Mud Cracks after Storm Painted Hills, Arizona While hiking out to visit the Painted Hills in the Arizona desert, Willie, David and I came across this area of cracked mud in a dry riverbed. Due to the monsoonal storms, rain from a previous days storm had started to seep into the ground when the blazing desert heat baked it into these amazing patterns. I loved the way that the mud hardens and curls as it cracks in the heat of the sun. I gave it some black and white treatment to bring out the amazing texture in the sand and mud.
